IMT, Enugu gets News Lab soon
The Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu and MEDIA are developing a Local News Lab in the Department of Mass Communications.
Why it matters
The lab will strengthen local journalism while giving future media professionals a place to learn by doing. It is designed to broaden whose stories are told and who gets to participate in public life.
A newsroom, classroom, and public forum
Through MEDIA’s institutional and international partnerships, the lab will encourage joint faculty research, student reporting, and collaboration between higher education institutions in Nigeria and beyond.
The lab will also convene experts and policymakers around technology, AI education, content creation, and the future of local news.
Be part of the change
Empower media literacy. Defend press freedom. Support ethical journalism — as a volunteer, donor, or advocate.
